The second time that I ever went down to Renault Winery, they had their Port in stock. They only make it once a year and I was lucky to acquire two bottles. I passed one bottle on to Al Paris at Mantra, which he delightfully shared with his mother.

This wine is a nice port, though I am wondering what grapes they used to make it, and what they added in the final step to fortify it. However, it's not bad in price (it's a 375ml bottle) for something that's not mass produced, and it's got a great taste. About the taste, it's warm and well-rounded, and I even detect a little bit of dark berry in it!

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
